Joining the firm
in September of 2005, Kristin was not new to the
profession or to litigation. A graduate of the
University of Arizona College of Law, having earned
her Juris Doctorate in May, 1999, she served as
an Assistant Attorney General in the Arizona Attorney
General's Office since April, 2000. In this position,
she handled, initially, the defense of civil litigation
against the Arizona Department of Corrections,
and, later, civil litigation brought against all
the various agencies, officers and employees of
the State of Arizona. Her duties have taken her
to both State and Federal Courts throughout the
State of Arizona to handle constitutional law,
and general tort matters, including cases involving
highway design and maintenance and premises liability.
She is admitted to the State Bar of Arizona, Federal
District Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Kristin's abilities go well beyond the courtroom
setting. She is a superior legal issue analyst
and legal writer. This is not hard to understand.
Kristin spent her undergraduate years at the E.W.
Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University
in Athens, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Journalism in 1994, graduating
Summa Cum Laude. In fact, before beginning her
legal training and career, Kristin served as both
a writer and editor for a regional Ohio magazine
and an Ohio music journal. In law school, Kristin
wrote for the Arizona Journal of International
and Comparative Law and participated in the Domestic
Violence Law Clinic, through the Volunteer Lawyers'
program. She has continued her participation with
the clinic as an attorney volunteer.
It is worth noting that Kristin, upon her arrival
in Tucson and Pima County, Arizona, immediately
began to give generously of her time and energy
to her newly adopted community. In this regard,
she has served as a volunteer instructor on civil
liability at the Pima County Juvenile Court Detention
Officer Training Academy, and was selected as
the 2001 Public Lawyer of the Year by the Volunteer
Lawyer Program. She is currently a member of the
Morris K. Udall Inn of Court. |
